We never planned to become distillers. But one frigid January night, Lake Superior, vast, majestic, mysterious, called us with a bidding we could not refuse. "Come," she whispered to us. And we knew we would.
Every sip of Vikre tips a vibrantly colored hat to the uncontainable eccentricities of the people who drink it, and the land that made it.
We forage the Northwoods for wild botanicals, use local and organic grains, handcrafted Minnesota oak barrels, and the clean cold water of Lake Superior to distill the essence of this great watershed into the finest spirits possible. Every sip is thoughtfully crafted to inspire your conversations, please your palate, and delightfully rouse your spirit.

CURRENT COCKTAIL ROOM HOURS: Monday to Friday — 1 to 10. Saturday — noon to 10. Sun — noon to 8. Please use our main entrance at 525 S. Lake Ave., and check in with the host to be seated. Patio opening Memorial Day weekend!
WAITLIST: Reservations are not accepted, but you can add yourself to our online waitlist HERE to cut your wait when you arrive. The waitlist is available only while we’re open. Please call us well ahead at (218) 481-7401 if you have more than 8 people in your party.

TUESDAYS ARE GAME DAY! Bring a board game, or play one of ours. Get comfy and stay awhile! Enjoy $6 gin & tonics and $2 perfect bar mix all day!
THE MENU: Innovative, from-scratch, handcrafted cocktails prepared just for you, and tasting flights of our spirits, liqueurs, and canned cocktails. See our current COCKTAIL ROOM MENU.
FOOD: We offer a limited menu of snack options, such as charcuterie and crostini. Vegan & GF options available. If you’re craving something more substantial, you’re welcome to bring takeout with you from neighboring restaurants. Our tables are small, however, and designed for cocktail service, so many people prefer to visit us for drinks before or after a meal elsewhere.
TO-GO OPTIONS: Full-size 750-ml and half-size 375-ml bottles (subject to state-mandated sales limits), cocktail kits, and Vikre merchandise are always available in our retail shop!
KIDS & DOGS: Well-behaved dogs on leashes and kids are welcome in the cocktail room, though keep in mind we have limited kid-friendly options on the menu.
NO-ALCOHOL OPTIONS: We always have several handcrafted no-alcohol drink options on our menu.
EVENTS: Looking to host a cocktail reception, social hour, or even book club meeting? We love hosting groups of up to 25 people at our semi-private back bar near our production area! Availability is generally limited to weekday evenings and weekends. Due to current business operations, we’re unable to host groups of more than 25 people. GET MORE INFO HERE.
PRIVATE TASTING EXPERIENCE: Our amazing private tasting experience is available by reservation only on select Saturdays. Reservations fill up fast, so book well in advance. Groups of 2-8* adults enjoy a private, guided experience in the distillery with a Vikre host. You’ll taste 4+ Vikre spirits and learn about the distillation process and the local ingredients and pristine Lake Superior water that make our spirits so unique. You’ll also have time to relax with a full-size cocktail of your choice off our current menu, served with complimentary “perfect bar mix.” A Vikre-logo souvenir rocks glass is yours to keep, plus you’ll receive special savings on bottles, cocktail kits, and merchandise in our retail shop! This experience is available by reservation only (see below). Reserve online, and pay at the time of your tasting. $39 per person (for non-drinkers, a mocktails version is available for $29), plus tax and a 20% service fee. *Looking to book a group of more than 8 people? CONFIRMATION & PAYMENT: Because we set up and staff a private bar just for you, we require a nonrefundable $20 reservation deposit, which will be credited back to your tab at the time of your tasting.
